Abstract Landscapes: An Introduction to Modern Tapestry Weaving. Learn to create an abstract landscape tapestry weaving on a frame loom with Ruby Beaupre, local tapestry artist and Rare Bird team member. Ruby will guide you through the the basics of frame loom weaving, from designing and planning to color blending, and an introduction to creating shapes. You will take home your very own loom, along with a wooden tapestry bobbin and warp thread for your next project.

Ruby Beaupre is a classically trained tapestry weaver who creates handwoven tapestries in her home studio in Berkeley, California. She pulls inspiration from the freedom of expression, diversity, and beauty that flows in Northern California. She trained in Berkeley with Aubusson Tapestry Weaver Tricia Goldberg, and is a member of Tapestry Weavers West. She currently teaches beginning and intermediate weaving workshops at Rare Bird Maker's Studio in Oakland. Her Tapestry creations combine bold color blends and unique interpretations of natural landscapes, scenes from space and her imagination.
