Danielle Marie Andress is an Oakland based textile and jewelry designer. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2008 with a BFA in textiles and specialized in hand weaving.
Danielle moved to Oakland from Philadelphia in 2011 and her work has been greatly influenced by the natural beauty and rich history of western America. She uses wool and other natural fibers to create whimsical, non-figurative tapestry weavings on both frame and floor looms. Her work is an investigation of color, texture, and the contextualization of handcraft in contemporary America. She is starting the MFA program at the California College of the Arts in the fall of 2015 in textiles.
