Defne Beyce is Turkish born, South Bay raised, Oakland based artist. She revived her BS in equine science from Colorado State University in 2000, and has worked as a horse trainer, reindeer handler, feed room manager, vet assistant, and animal researcher. In photography she found another way of seeing the landscape, real and imagined, of the Colorado front range, and from there embarked on an art career.
Defne received her post bacc at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and her MFA from the California College of Art. She currently works as an artist and screen-printer in Oakland, CA.
