Natural Dyes: Eco-Printing with Spring Plants
Eco-printing is a natural dye technique that is used to create unique textile patterns and colors using plants. Students will learn about which plants can be foraged in the Bay Area seasonally to use in their unique garment patterns. After some instructor demos, students will be able to make their own eco-print patterns using fresh plants that are provided. Each student will go home with 3 silk handkerchiefs and 1 silk scarf, plus the tools & knowledge to recreate the process at home!
