It is Springtime and we are waking up. In the mythology of the old ways the Spring Equinox celebrates the return of the Goddess from the Underworld. She is warmed by the strengthening light of the Sun and she awakens bursting forth from her sleep and blankets the earth with green fertility. The fields and forests delight us with her new life. The buds are blooming. The trees have tiny leaves of new growth. The world feels alive. Mother Nature is giving us the gift of new life.
We are honoring this turn of the wheel with a Giveaway. For this circle each of us will bring something from home that we love and cherish but it is ready to go on to its next home. This is something that has meaning for us, not a cast off item. In this way we practice both giving away as the Earth is right now, and receiving, so we may let in the unexpected goodness. We honor the cycles of life in all their forms as we let one gift go, create space, and let in something new. The ceremony highlights our interconnectivity and feelings of synchronicity and gratitude. We will discuss the Native American and other cultural roots of this kind of ritual and experience the spirit of giving and sacred connection.
Join us for an evening of welcoming Spring, new beginnings, sharing our hearts, meditation, ancient wisdom, tea, and ceremony.
